Color Play! - Seattle Knitter's Guild
Color Play! - a new theory and practice for artists - 1 hr
Skill Level: All
Color sense is the power drill of every artist’s toolbox - come take yours for a spin! In this presentation, artist and researcher Lev Boberg will share the foundations of their Color Play! method, an open-hearted approach inspired by and for textile artists, that draws on Lev’s knowledge of color & materials design, fashion, science, and handcraft.
In this presentation, we’ll start with a real-world view of color, looking at visual inspiration and discussing our own personal experiences of color. From there, we’ll dig deeper into the language of color theory and explore the effects of context, material, and proportions on color expression. Throughout, Lev will share examples of textiles, swatches, and samples from their personal collection, to illustrate and provoke questions about color concepts in real time.
Attendees will be encouraged to participate in discussion and hands-on creative exercises during this presentation.
